What Did You Call Me?
By Patricia Meek
Would you rather retire to an 'active mature community' or a 'senior facility?'  Be very careful not to offend your customers with insensitive wording. At Georgia Hosting, we take such things into consideration when we develop websites and marketing for your company.

Here's another example: "55 and Older Community." Aging folks don't want to think about getting older, please. Call it "55 and Better."
The Maturing Population, also known as Seniors, has been taking most of the brunt of such insensitivity, but there are other populations who can become just as offended: any race or culture gender reference, small children, awkward teens, women for a multitude of reasons, animal lovers, and the list goes on..

Georgia Hosting editors take such things into account when developing a website. We find that it's better to have have several people from your age/culture/whatever bracket review the website or marketing copy before publishing it. If possible, it is always even more telling to watch their reactions to the words.

The First Thing You Need To Know
By Patricia Meek
When it comes to developing a branding and marketing plan, the first thing you need to know are your customers. Just exactly who is going to buy your service or product, and where do they congregate?

Start Here
Suppose I sell soap. Well, anyone would need that. But what if it is all natural pomegranate-lime soap?

Not Everybody Wants You - Find Your Customer
Well, that narrows the customer field. Do some research into who buys soaps that are similar. Now you are looking for people who are primarily women, who don't mind spending more to have something unique, and who care about ecology and health. You will not find them slogging through the markdown bins at Wally Mart. So you can surmise that they are women with refined aesthetic tastes and some money to spend. Either young singles with jobs, or older women who don't have kids to put through college.

Find Out Where They Shop
Where would you find an audience like that? Health stores, organic grocers, bath boutiques, gift and bridal stores. Perhaps more so in populations such as Asheville NC, Savannah GA, California and the Northern Pacific, where people are a little more free spirited and health conscious. You might visit to get a better sense of who these buyers are. You might even consider cross-marketing with some of these places. Ask a boutique owner if he will sell or give away some of your product (advertising your website for more purchases) in exchange for a blurb about his boutique on your website.

Now You Are Ready To Build
This information tells you how to design your website to make such buyers feel at home, and how to market to them.

Let Your Competitors Speed Up The Learning Curve
Once you have zeroed in, you can see exactly who your competition is, too. Just a quick bit of research for my imaginary company brought me four Asheville competitors: Faerie Made, The Laughing Mermaid , Essential Journeys and The Appalachian soap company. Immediately, I can see three esoteric names that allude to the 'experience' of the fancy soap, and one highlighting its all-natural properties.

You can draw from their marketing experience to determine what direction you would like to pursue in designing your website and marketing your product.

Watch Your Language
Take a look at the competitor websites and notice what key words or phrases they use. Perhaps you can incorporate some into your web script. Be careful not to 'lift' whole sections or sentences out of another website. That is called plagarism. Some people will send cease and desist letters or sue you for using their work.

Just get the overall tone of the sites, notice what words many of them have in common, and use that to create your own online masterpiece that will be competitive and will reach the people who are most likely to be searching for your product.

Organic Marketing Compared to Other Marketing Strategies
By Patricia Meek
Organic Marketing refers to a multi-channel method of promoting your business online, using search engines, social media and the like to get as your name out there as much as possible with minimal advertising cost. At Georgia Hosting  and Local SEO we have been establishing our clients online for several years. We know how exactly which mediums have the most impact for your specialty, and exactly how to tweak them to provide maximum results. You can monitor your marketing progress by the stats counter on your website. The numbers of hits and contacts will rise. See the difference for yourself.

The term Marketing in general means establishing the value of your products or services to create a demand for them. According to BJ Bueno and Scott Jeffrey of CultBranding.com, there are 52 types of marketing. This is an awesome article. Here are some examples:

Cause Marketing - developing a rapport with customers because you share the same cause

Close Range (or Proximity) Marketing - like when you sign up for Ned's Pizza and get a text coupon for lunch tomorrow

Relationship Marketing - building a rapport with customers instead of selling. Purchase comes as a result of trusted relationship

Scarcity Marketing - making a product available only to a few raises the desire for it

Word Of Mouth - the ancient way to market. A satisfied customer tells another. Works best for a single prized item you sell or make

Call To Action Marketing - ask customers or web viewers to sign up for email, get an estimate, go the next step

Viral Marketing - keep re-inventing the wheel so customers develop a desire for the new product and talk about it to others

Diversity Marketing - for example, McDonalds sells sweet tea in the South U.S. and wine in Paris

Undercover Marketing - NOT telling the public, but letting on that something is developing can create a desire to buy

Mass Marketing - A shotgun-splatter approach large businesses with lots of money use, like Coca-Cola. Don't try to appeal to any segment of the population but blanket various media with the simple message to buy your product.

Seasonal Marketing - Cadbury Eggs, anyone?

PR Marketing - they make the example of Steve Jobs who held a media press conference every time a new release came out

Online Marketing - in any form from banner ads to pop-ups to targeted cross-advertising. Some are paid and some are free listings

Email Marketing - almost everyone does this now, asking for your email address so they can send you direct sales updates

Brand Lovers Marketing - avid customers wear the brand name as if it is part of their identity

Event Marketing - the prime example of this is Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Creates a warm, fuzzy feeling, doesn't it?

Outbound Marketing - hiring a marketing company to identify possible consumers for your product

Inbound Marketing - telemarketers that call lists of people in search of prospects

Freebie Marketing - giving away key chains, etc. to promote your company

Loss Leader Marketing - drastically reducing the price on one item with the expectation that buyers will buy more than that item.

Newsletter Marketing - does not sell, but raises awareness of trends in the industry and provides insight to customers

Article Marketing, Content Marketing, Blogging - same idea, varying media such as print, web and blog to promote the company

Content Marketing - writing articles that teach about the uses of a product or service that you sell. Sometimes tagged onto sponsorship.
Trade Shows
Search Marketing - getting listed on search engines

Direct Marketing - sending mail to identified and targeted potential customers either by region or by market study

Niche Marketing - for example, there are lots of shoe dealers, but how many sell tap shoes? Instant loyal tap customers

Drip Marketing - I think this used to be know as "Burma Shave" for the short lead-on messages that end in a punchline for the product.

Community Marketing - "engage an audience of existing customers in an active dialogue" to learn what they want. Promotes loyalty.

Social Media Marketing - facebook posts, twitter tweets, etc.

Cross-Media Concept - reach target buyers through a variety of mediums such as mail and email, all carrying the same message.

B2B Marketing - focus your efforts on third party sources - other businesses or organizations that will sell/promote your goods or services

Promotional Marketing - contests, coupons and free samples

Ambush Marketing - tries to capitalize on big events without paying sponsorship fees. Not an acceptable business practice

B2C Marketing - Business to Consumer - an aggressive short term barrage of coupons, displays, storefronts to make shoppers buyers

Cloud Marketing - An example given is Dunkin Donuts giving access to online games that include pics of their flavored coffees

Mobile Marketing - Marketing on a Smartphone, perhaps targeted to your current location or preferences

Alliance Marketing - two or more businesses pool resources. Example: Ben & Jerry's new flavor, Stephen Colbert's "Americone Dream"

Reverse Marketing - Dove's Campaign For Real Beauty told women they were naturally beautiful, so they became fans of Dove

Telemarketing (Inside Sales) - Not popular. Best when not selling outright, such as "I am calling to let you know you have a new restaurant in town and invite you to come by and visit us."

Free Sample Marketing - free samples in the mail, often handled through third party mailing companies

Direct Mail -  uses market studies to target your potential consumers (target market) and get advertising directly to them by mail, email, etc. it includes a specific 'call to action' such as a certain phone number or web link, and relies on data collected (measurable response) to determine whether is is effective.

Database Marketing - similar to direct mail marketing but uses even more refined statistic and consumer analysis to define a  narrow, more select group of potential consumers and then using any addressable medium (mail, email, etc. to send a personalized message based on their consumer behavior, such as Nike targeting long distance runners only for a new cross-country shoe.

B2B Database Marketing - popular because business databases aren't under the same privacy laws as personal, so it is easier to get more specific information. So, for example, Nike would target a runners shop, outdoor sports shop or athletic footwear store about the new shoe.

Personalized Marketing - for example, Nike ID allows buyers to personalize their shoes, creating brand loyalty

Affinity Marketing - similar to partnership marketing except in this case you have one company that is well known introducing a new or less well known one to their customers.

Cultural or Cult Marketing - draws customers based on their ideology, such as no animal testing or Peace Tea

Humanistic Marketing - appealing to a feeling of deprivation of basic needs (car - safety, beer - friends, paint - self expression)

Guerrilla Marketing - grassroots, low budget, surprise factors such as flyers, tattoo, bumper sticker, spray paint T shirt

Brand Marketing - creating loyalty for the brand instead of individual products, such as Mercedes

Now, getting back to my original story, Organic marketing is different from Direct Marketing, Advertising, Mass Marketing and POS (Point Of Sale). Here's why:

Direct Marketing seeks new customers in a certain area who are not highly interested. This type of marketing usually involves a heavy investment of time and money. The emphasis is on reaching the individual with a sales pitch, and the return is not high-volume. An example of this is mass mailers that go directly to personal mailboxes.

Mass Marketing is a blanket type of marketing, reaching out to a larger population of not-highly-interested people at once. This also involves  time and considerable money. Examples of this type are radio or TV commercials. The difference is that this repeat marketing (usually contracted for multiple airing times) develops name recognition.

Advertising is a third means of reaching the public. Examples of this type include reaching the public through reputation promotion, links in the Yellow Pages and so on - also a paid, blanket coverage of a specific area or not-highly-interested consumers.

POS (point of sale) is slightly different because it is limited to the general vicinity of your business - the cash register at your store or the shopping center or office park where you are located. Generally, you might hang signs in your area regarding a special sale, or have a sign holder in front of your store. In this situation, though, you are waiting for the customer to come to YOU, which is not very effective.

Organic Marketing manages to disperse your company name over a broad area AND concentrate it in your community or area of expertise through careful placement and key wording, all with minimal cost.

Give Me a Good Reason To Blog
By Patricia Meek
At Georgia Hosting, I'm usually the blog writer for our clients. With degrees in Journalism and Art, plus experience as an Atlanta magazine editor, I have the necessary tools to make a sensible article out of just about any subject.

But when people ask me why they should have a blog, hey, I'm new to this ever-changing world of computers, too. I don't have all the answers except to say that from a webmaster's point of view, every time your name goes out on the internet again, it positively affects rankings. You don't have to write War and Peace, just a couple of short paragraphs that put your name out there again and again. That's how marketing works. Someone may not hear you the first time, but maybe they'll notice you the 20th time. When you tie your blog in to your facebook, twitter and whatever-the-latest-thing-is accounts, you market exponentially with just one article and a lot less work.

That's part of my job doing local seo for Georgia Hosting. Posting may be a little time-consuming but it's the best thing when your company has a limited advertising budget, and a great thing if you're a larger company that is trying to be more consumer-friendly.

However, I want to give you more than just the two concepts of boosting ranking and repetitive marketing. So I went to my great oracle - the internet itself - to ask what others have to say about Reasons To Blog. Here are some results:

Allows you to get more in-depth on a single subject or product
Big company news or sudden changes
Highlight or give kudos to an employee
Brag about a high-profile or difficult project
Show Before and After shots
Collect general customer opinions ("How are we doing?")
Expose new concepts and get feedback before it goes into production
Target certain topics for long-range discussion over several postings
Tell about community service projects your company is involved in
Put out a call for a network 'think tank' of  experts on a crucial issue
Draw in new customers who dsicover your blog when they do a topic search

Here is my personal reason to blog: The more I must write about a topic, the more focused I become. I get it out of my head and down on 'paper' as such. Seeing it on the page gives me a new perspective with which to form decisions, and it may be the launching point of an all-new train of innovative thought.  For a lot of very good reasons, it is worth taking the time to blog.

A website video can make a major impact on your internet presence in website development. Videos can be included in new website design, dropped into current websites built by Georgia Hosting, or linked into your website via YouTube.

Advantages:

  • They act as a more personable introduction
  • Enhance your website
  • Provide extra value to viewers
  • Generate excitement for the product
  • Increase internet ranking

Examples Include:

  • A Quick "Who we are, What we do, How to get it" for those who don't want to read the whole website
  • Personable "Welcome" From Owner
  • Product Displays
  • How-To Demonstrations
  • Tour of Facilities
  • Group Discussions, Interviews, Testimonials
  • Properties/Homes For Sale/Rent
  • Before and After
  • Music Related Websites
  • Action Footage for Athletes or Athletic Resumes

Imagine having a website video welcoming your guests and giving them a tour of your facilities. Your customers will feel like they know you better, and will prefer doing business with you instead of the competitor.

Keywords, Metatags and Titles
By Patricia Meek
Simple words to the wise for building a website that is more successfully 'spidered' by search engine bots:

Keep the title (or page header) short and to the fact. Industry experts suggest that 60-65 characters should be the maximum. The title tag also appears at the top of some browsers when the website is selected, so make sure it packs a solid punch of information about your web page.

Key Words should be kept to a minimum of 3 to 4 words that summarize your page or product.

Metatags can expand on that concept a bit. For example, you sell websites. Expand on that concept to include "professional website," "e-commerce website" and "business website."

Does Your Company Logo Stand For Something?
By Patricia Meek

Branding is everything, starting with your company logo design. What does that mean? According to Reputations Corporation consultancy group, 72% of potential customers say a company's reputation influences their buying habits. 80% say reputation is the tiebreaker between virtually equal products. Your 'brand' is the 'face' of your company that the public sees, and what it represents.

Think of a big red, bulbous K. Nothing but one letter. Yet what comes to mind? Kellog's cereals? Special K? A huge corporation? Wheat fields stretching endlessly to the horizon on a beautiful morning? What other words come to mind? Healthy? Wholesome? Satisfying? Are you hungry yet? Branding...company, reputation...usually all summed up in a simple graphic artwork that is called a logo. Make yours count!

At Georgia Hosting, we not only custom design websites to meet your needs, but we can work with you to design your company's logo or update a current one. Give us a call at 770-356-5173 or use our convenient website contact form to get free information on how we might be able to help you develop a superior logo that captures your company's spirit.

Website Photos
By Pat Meek
Consider these things when using photos in your website:

Use your own photos whenever possible, so people can see the real thing. If you aren't a good photographer, it is worth it to get a professional who can display your home, product or facility in the best light.

However, when applying a concept, such as "Call now! Operators are standing by!" a stock photo of someone on the phone will do.

Before and After shots are very persuasive sellers.

People are naturally attracted to faces. Always include happy faces in your website if at all possible.

Photos do not need to be large to make a good impression. Smaller pictures load faster, keeping your viewer's attention.

Graphics such as pie charts or detailed reports should load as a .pdf so the viewer can click to get a full sized version for examination.

The main rule is to let pictures tell the story but never drown out your content.

Choose Titles Carefully
By Patricia Meek
Website-making is not as easy as the big domain providers would make it out to be. If you want a successful website, a lot of planning must go into its development.

One thing to be careful about is the use of certain keyboard characters in website names, titles, text and photo attributions. Hard Coding is the general term for various programming languages employed to the framework for your website. To the average person, it looks like alien gibberish.

For example, if you look in your Web Control page development boxes, you'll see HTML at the bottom of each page on the left side of the blue bar. If you click on HTML, you can see the actual hard coding that makes your page development possible. Click back on Normal to see it in English.

The point is, hard coding relies heavily on some keyboard characters such as commas, semicolons. quote marks and parentheses to execute and complete certain commands. Places where text is supposed to be placed within the website are coded so that you can use these characters without complication. However, titles, attributes and some other places within the website may not have been protected. Using a dash in the name, for example, can cause a website malfunction.

In addition, using such characters in website titles or page names may cause search engines to become confused and bypass your site. The result is low or no ranking.

Suppose your company name is Life-Style Designs. Change website titles to Lifestyle and you'll have better results.

Website Updates a Must!
By Patricia Meek
Don't overlook the importance of updating your website on a frequent basis.

Search engines that do not detect regular change at least every three months assume the website is stagnant or perhaps no longer in business. Your ranking drops as a result.

Also, viewers who access your website regularly look forward to something fresh each time.

Make some kind of a change: update information, add a photo, move things around. With our Web Control management system, you can make almost all changes yourself, instantaneously.

Go a step further. If you want to reach a larger audience, Georgia Hosting has an entire Marketing Matrix of solutions to boost your rankings and internet presence.

Easy Video Marketing Tips That Are Simple To Learn
By Gregory C Bennett Sr.
These days, if video marketing is a major part of expanding any business. However, creating a successful strategy isn't always that easy. The following article has some helpful tips and tricks that you can use. Read on and learn some great ways you can improve your business' video marketing strategy. When you are using video marketing it is important to keep your content interesting. If your video is dull then people will probably not watch the entire thing or recommend it to their friends. Make your message clear and engaging to your audience. Imagine you are watching your own video as a consumer. After you have published your video, include your web address in the video description. You will also want to include several keywords that describe your video in the description. This will help users find your information and search engines effectively rank your video. Your web address can also be included in your video. SEO Don't forget your SEO as you create your video! Include key words and phrases in the title and video. You can even use your website's keywords in the name you use on YouTube to further your SEO.

You should also create a video sitemap for your site which Google can crawl. Never quickly throw together a title! It has to include not only SEO keywords you think will bring in the right viewers, but also something catchy so they'll actually click the link. What would viewers like yours be looking for? Try to create a title which is witty and alluring. You can put up a podcast feed on your site to syndicate your video around the web. This will get your video out to a much larger audience than just social media or YouTube will. For example, post it on Amazon for the Kindle or iTunes for their devices and see your audience grow. Local Hire a pro to film your videos if you have trouble with them. Poorly produced videos made at home are worse than having no videos. What You Need To Know About Video & SEO Search engine optimization
By Greg Bennett
Is an effective way to give your website an advantage. You need to do plenty of homework on how SEO works. In this article, you will learn just how to get your site on its way to the top of the results for your chosen keywords. Make sure you select relevant keywords to use in your anchor text when posting an internal link.

Your link should never read simply "click here"; this doesn't benefit your search engine rankings in any way. Using keywords as your anchor text is another way to earn brownie points with search engine spiders. The way to do this is to create a robot text file and then place it in your site's root directory. txt file and incorporating it into your main directory. The search engine is then unable to access selected files featured on your site.

YouTube has excellent editing features. Annotations are one such tool. Perhaps you want to add some extra detail about the product, or you wish to promote it further with a special coupon code.
TIP! Try submitting your videos to various video websites. YouTube is very popular and should be used, but don't forget there are several video hosting sites out there.
Meta description tags are an extremely useful tool for optimizing your website for major search engines. These description tags will provide a short blurb about your website or the page to the search engine. Keep the meta tags simple and of high quality. Descriptive tags will go a long way in bringing visitors to your website. Your descriptions can lure visitors away from higher-ranking pages, so do not skip this important step. Be sure to use very descriptive title tags so that search engines will comprehend your site content easily. Limit your title tags to sixty characters. Search engines usually only preview the first few words.

Additionally, they give words appearing after the 60 character limit less weight. One way to increase your page's search rank and attract more visitors is to include a site map. A site map is a list of links that can go to any page on your site. When visitors notice the links on your page, it can significantly increase your site traffic. If you have a brick and mortar store, don't think online videos can't work to promote your business. They can, and do. Start with a video tour of your shop, introducing yourself and showcasing your best products and services. Done correctly, video marketing can help personalize your business and reach new customers. So, turn on that camera and show the world why they should trade at your shop.
TIP! Be regular and consistent with your video publishing. Make the effort to create videos on a regular basis for posting.
Blogging is a great way to add more keyword rich content to your site, and improve your search engine ranking. There will be more people visiting your site than ever. Make sure that you have a good description tag, so that search engines will direct your target customers to your website. The text for this meta tag should not exceed 30 words. This page should be smaller than 100 KB in size. Generate a keyword-oriented site map for added SEO optimization. A site map is an easy to read, easily accessible directory of every area on your website. It gives users a simple way to find what they're looking for on your site.

Ease of access can be important to a search engine's rankings, so these site maps will help your website rank higher. A product review video is a great way to promote a product. Show how to set up or demonstrate the uses of your products. Discuss each feature and how it works. Mention any options that are available and don't forget warrantee information. Video reviews show your market why your product is the one to buy. Get started with video marketing and watch your sales increase.
TIP! You have a limited amount of time to capture the attention of your viewers. The 15 seconds that start your video must count.
To improve your site's local visibility, create a listing for your business on sites like Google Places and Yahoo Local. These free services offer you ways to make your site more visible, bringing in more visitors. Always take up free venues for your publicity. You will not have to use image links if you are using SEO correctly. Image links only give the search engines the hyperlink address. There are an almost limitless amount of techniques out there for SEO but trying to learn them all is a mistake.

The truth is that there are just not enough hours in the day to master every little technique, so pick one that looks promising and exploit this angle as much as you can. Always have your opt-in information available on the same page as your video. Your viewers may wish to sign your mailing list so that they can receive additional information on your video topic. This is an ideal time to use your sales pitch.
TIP! Know your audience. Videos that are compelling offer valuable insight and information that the target audience wants to hear.
Putting your website in a prime place to be found is what search engine optimization is all about. The article you have just read gave you multiple tips on how to make this happen for you. Applying these simple tricks will get your website noticed in no time, so increase your traffic today!

Video SEO Marketing Can Be Easy With This Guide
By Greg Bennett
Many people are interested in developing a video marketing campaign but do not know where to begin. Have you heard about it, but still need solid advice? This is the place for you. This article will give you the skill you need to do video marketing. When using SEO on your website, resist the temptation to include common misspellings of your keywords to increase hits. Most search engines today are smart enough to fix users' mistakes before the search even begins, so traffic will not increase using this method. Instead, your site will appear unprofessional and untrustworthy to visitors.
TIP! When writing an SEO article for your website make sure that your chosen keyword appears in the opening and closing paragraphs, but do not fill the article with the keyword. A search engine will see an article with a ridiculously high keyword density as spam and the article will be useless for improving your website's search engine rank.
Great content is critical if you want a video to go viral. You need not have expensive video equipment for your video to be viewed by millions of people. People will view your video as long as it contains excellent content that they can relate to, regardless of whether or not the video contains top-notch production. Knowing this, buy the best camera that is reasonable for your budget. You can take a do-it-yourself approach to learning the tips and tricks of becoming an SEO. There is a wide array of resources you can look to for help in learning the trade. There are plenty of websites to help you on your journey as well as some great books to read.
TIP! Find some SEO forums that take site review requests. Participate in the forums then ask fellow members to take look at your website.
Are you selling a product? Make a video showing potential customers how your product works. This is a way to help build up confidence in what you are selling. By seeing it in action, the product will have more buyers. Remember to effectively use the description meta tag on your website, because that is what search engines will use to summarize what a page on your website is about. Search engines will generally use a maximum of 160 characters for this description meta tag. Using the description meta tag, will go a long way toward boosting your SEO value.
TIP! One of the biggest mistakes budding SEO experts make is having titles on their site that are just too long. Keep in mind that most search engines put a 60 character cap on keywords for a title, so the shorter, more informative you can make your title, the better off you will be.
You have to grab people's attention right away if you want them to view your entire video. The initial 15 seconds are the make or break period. Give your viewers a reason to watch the whole thing. To get the best SEO ranking, it's important to write quality copy. Excellent copywriting is at the core of search engine optimization. It typically generates more visitors and attracts more inbound linking. Plus, the search engines, especially Google, have ways of determining how well a story is written and how useful it is, both of which are weighed in search engine ranking.
TIP! Publish content with as little HTML code as possible. Search engines prefer pages that favor actual content instead of tons of HTML code.
A good video does not need to be expensive. You do not need a professional camera if your picture is clear and you use a tripod to prevent the camera from shaking. A long, involved script and a great deal of experience is not required either. Be yourself and look in the camera while talking. In fact, you might not even need to do this. Screen capture sequences and PowerPoint presentations sometimes get the job done. When you write an article that is SEO friendly, make sure you do not forget to make it enjoyable to read, too. You never know who will come across your article and it will reflect poorly on you as a writer and marketer, if your piece reads like straight, SEO spam.
TIP! Getting a new website linked to by established, highly-ranked sites can significantly speed up the process of getting it indexed by search engines. This is important to search engine optimization schemes, because the initial indexing delay for new sites is extremely frustrating.
Marketing a video isn't hard at all. Learn from the tips located above and begin making videos for your video marketing campaign. Your video marketing campaign could allow you to reach out to millions of potential customers. Why not tap into this huge market?

Seeking Information About Video Marketing? You Came To The Right Place!

Video marketing is one of the best ways to market your business. When implemented properly, video marketing is a sure fire way to increase sales and profits. For video marketing to work, however, it must be properly implemented in an intelligent manner. This article contains all of the info you need to know in order to succeed at video marketing. When you create a video for marketing purposes keep it under 2 minutes. You want your target audience to watch the whole message, and if it is too long you will potentially lose audiences as they click off. You can always continue a thought or message in a follow up video if needed.

TIP! Don't forget your SEO as you create your video! Include key words and phrases in the title and video. You can even use your website's keywords in the name you use on YouTube to further your SEO.
A great way to make videos fun to watch is by having more than one person in them. Interview an expert or just bring someone on with you who is fun to watch. The more entertaining the people on the video are, the more likely viewers are to buy in to what's being said. If you're selling a product, create a video which tells your customers how to use the product. You can start with opening the box, run through how to put it together, and then show them how they can use it. This will make them appreciate how much you respect your customers. Don't dismiss YouTube. Video marketing campaigns should begin on this site. After all, it's free hosting for your videos. Additionally, you will be on the 3rd most popular website in the known universe. YouTube is more than just a video sharing site, it is a huge resource for people searching for information on the web.
TIP! Never quickly throw together a title! It has to include not only SEO keywords you think will bring in the right viewers, but also something catchy so they'll actually click the link. What would viewers like yours be looking for? Try to create a title which is witty and alluring.

Determine the tone you want your marketing videos to exhibit and then stick to it. Funny videos that are quirky can be as good as videos on how to do something. Your tone should be adapted to your audience and to the products you are selling. Use these factors alongside the image that you want to present for you business as you decide what tone you want to set for your marketing videos. For people who are new to video marketing, try to keep your videos short. Around 30-45, seconds is a good length to start. You really do not have a lot of time to get your message through with the viewers' short attention spans. As you become more experienced, you will notice that you are able to get your message across within this time frame easily.

When you're posting videos using WordPress, check out video sitemap extensions which allow you to easily add the new video to your current video sitemap. Without such a sitemap, Google won't index your videos and therefore viewers who are searching for them will never be lucky enough to find them. As was previously talked about in the opening paragraph, video marketing is an absolutely fantastic way to increase both sales and profits. As a business owner, you are making a mistake if you neglect to utilize this proven to be effective marketing technique. By applying everything you've learned from this article you can make big-time money!

Website Video Makes A Major Impact
By pm
A website video can make a major impact on your Internet presence, drawing in more customers and crossing over into other social media, thereby 'spreading the word' about your business.

Videos can be included in new websites, dropped into current ones, or linked into a website via YouTube.

Website Video Advantages:

  • Makes a more personable introduction to your company (a welcome by the company president, for example)
  • Enhances the quality of your website
  • Provides extra value to viewers with introductions, how-to's or product displays
  • Provides 'live' information such as walk-thoughs, or online portfolio of performances
  • Generates more excitement for your products or services
  • The viewer makes a stronger connection with your company
  • Increases Internet ranking

Examples Include:

  • A Quick "Who we are, What we do, How to get it" for those who don't want to read the whole website
  • Personable "Welcome" From Owner
  • Product Displays
  • How-To Demonstrations
  • Tour of Facilities
  • Group Discussions, Interviews, Testimonials
  • Properties/Homes For Sale/Rent
  • Before and Aftermake-overs
  • Music Related Websites
  • Action Footage for Athletes or Performers
  • Online Portfolio for Artists

Imagine having a website video welcoming your guests and giving them a tour of your facilities. Your customers will feel like they know you better, and will prefer doing business with you instead of the competitor.

It's easy to make a website video. The average length is 1 -2 minutes, just enough time to capture interest. We handle all the details for you, and the price is very reasonable. Contact Local SEO Atlanta today for your free consultation.

Is Blogging Worth The Time?
By pam
You're busy - you've got a company to run. Who has time to sit down and write little essays on a regular basis? What is there to say? Just about every website has a blog these days, though. Is it that important to keep up with the competition?

What You Don't Need A Blog For
Your website pages are meant to advertise products and services, tell about your company, and solicit sales. That's what competitors do, too. However, your competitors have also turned to Facebook, Twitter and other social networking systems to get the word out about their company and increase online presence. You must keep up. So isn't a blog redundant?  What can it possibly do that these venues can't?

Reaching Out In A Meaningful Way
Use your website for sales information and to announce news about your company and its products or services. Website = Advertising. The social networks are limited to a few short sentences - little more than a blurb, that can be shared from friend to friend and hopefully go 'viral.'   Social Net = Marketing.

Blogs are the venue of choice for imparting knowledge on related subjects, putting forth general questions, mulling over outside news or regulations that may affect your industry, and asking for consumer opinions. Blog = Town Hall Meeting. It's the place for customers to learn about your expertise, and to develop a reader relationship with a foundation rooted in personality, not  sales pitches. Readers will come back often if the content is a) helpful and b) refreshed frequently with new information.

In an isolated medium like the Internet, in a modern culture that has become increasingly impersonal, blogging brings people together again in 'communities' of targeted interests. It is the 'warm, fuzzy feeling' that customers have been missing.

So Let Your Light Shine
Be who you are. Tell what you know. Share what you care about. Ask for the exchange of ideas. They are so enriching! Get to know your customers. As they get to know you better, they become more likely to be loyal clients.

Educate
Share your expertise about your industry.  Post interviews with experts on related issues, or include guest writers. Let people know about upcoming issues.

Increase Search Engine Ranking
Each time you post a page on your website, it adds to your ranking. That alone is a good reason to take the time to write on a regular basis. As you post articles on items that are commonly queried, you get more Internet traffic, too.  Others may cross-link, picking up your blog on a regular basis, and talking about it on their blogs. Word gets around.

So go for it. Try it out. Slow at first. Maybe ask some questions and see how your audience responds. Let me know how you do!

In the early days of the web (say, ten years ago), it was  very common to come across websites that were basically electronic versions of a calling card. Beyond the company name, a short sales pitch  and some basic contact information, there was very little to it. The message of these websites was basically, “Here I am. Take it or leave it.”

With today's explosion of viral social media and video, the most successful commercial websites become traffic magnets by reaching their visitors – and clinch their sales – by simultaneously using a number of different online marketing techniques. One of the most popula and successful – and the least understood – is adding a Blog to your website.

Your Blog as a "Traffic Magnet"

The blog (short for web-log) can be your businesses personal online journal. Frequently updated, blogs most often is posted to a single page in a  reverse-chronological order, in order to create an on going “autobiography” of the site, or the site host. Blogs can be devoted to anything under the sun – and can serve as a traffic magnet and an important tool for bringing in more online web traffic.

When you add a blog to your site, and feed it regularly with new keyword rich postings, you’ll instantly make your site a traffic magnet and more interesting that will give your first-time visitors a reason to come back for more.

When blogging, you can – and should – always include a mechanism for comments. This builds a viral community, increases your visitors’ sense of loyalty, and makes the “conversation” more interesting for everyone. Even more importantly, these comments can give you very important feedback about your site – or the products and services you sell. This can be parleyed into a stronger presentation that will appeal to more people, drive additional traffic to your site, and ultimately increase sales.

The Great Blog-Link Conspiracy

Many Publishers of blogs will frequently approach other bloggers with the following proposal: “please link to me, I’ll link to you.”

Of course, getting positive links to your site posted around the internet is a positive thing. But there’s much more. You can generate more online traffic by looking for blogs that discuss the topics related to your own area of expertise. Join in the discussion. Post Comments frequently. Do your best to be helpful. And by all means, be sure that every time that you comment, you include your name, contact information, and a direct link back to your site.

Conduit – Add “Draw” to Your Blogging Efforts

Conduit community toolbars can increase the effectiveness of blogging as a traffic magnet. Every time you add a new blog post, you can alert all of your toolbar subscribers with a “teaser link” that appears in the toolbar as a link or widget, that encourages your subscribers to click through to your site.

Conduit toolbars are also an excellent way to “dress up” your blog and make it more attractive. With Conduit, you can easily incorporate news feeds, music, streaming audio and video, podcasts, games and applications into your toolbar – all of which can be become part of your blog. You can even take advantage of Conduit’s standing agreements with syndicated content providers, and offer your visitors a selection of top-quality articles and media, absolutely free.

Best of all, by publishing a Conduit toolbar, your blog becomes part of the Conduit network’s 38 million subscriber base – making it an even greater traffic magnet and possible to bring in more directed traffic, from more parts of the internet, than ever before.
